Pluie Bretagne

Best places to visit in september

Which are the best places to visit in september near the Emerald coast in Brittany, France ? We’ll definitely go there for its beaches, its hikes or for cycling, but what can you do when it’s raining ? It’s well-known that in Brittany, the weather can be changing, and september often means showers and greyness. But don’t worry, you won’t get bored ! We have plenty of ideas for you, and you will be able to enjoy our beautiful territory for the rest of the summer…

Don’t hesitate to visit cities of Brittany !

Saint-Malo, Dinan or Mont Saint-Michel are still accessible even when it’s raining ! With a good raincoat, we’re not afraid of rain ! But if you still want to shelter, why not a Thalasso afternoon in Saint-Malo or a museum visit like the tidal power station of the Rance or the Brittany museum in Rennes ?

There is also the possibility to sit in a cozy café in Saint-Malo, to have a delicious pastry and a heartwarming drink ! I highly recommand the Bougeotte café where you can order excellent breakfasts, and the coffee shop named Récit de voyage where you will find homemade desserts to die for ! Tested and approved 😉

    Visit a Breton biscuit factory

You’ll fall for Breton specialities ! Galettes, crêpes dentelles, caramels, madeleines, sweets, spreads… Are you tempted too ? Enjoy an original and gourmet visit…

We recommand Maison Guella in Cancale and Gavottes in Dinan to visit their biscuit factories and try their artisanal products. In the end, you will obviously have to fill bags of sweets and cookies, for you or even to offer it.

So, Maison Guella or Gavottes ? Do you really have to choose !

    And in Dol-de-Bretagne ?

Dol is a small city that is full of activities for rainy weather ! You can spend some time in the cinema at Ciné Dol, also at the swimming pool called Dolibulle (inside pools, nordic course, sauna/hammam) or in the cathédraloscope ! This exhibition area surprises children and adults with its fun and instructive visit. If you like reading, the multimedia library in Dol can also be a good place to shelter. See, there is so much to visit in september !
