Marathon of Mont Saint-Michel is celebrating its 21st edition on May 27th 2018 and some of our guests are running it !
42,195km Marathon around Mont Saint-Michel Bay
Every year, it’s over 4000 runners from France and other countries who come to to run along Mont Saint-Michel Bay. It is indeed an eddceptional occasion to discover the heritage of this area and discovering the bay under a diferent angle!
4 races are in the program from May 26 to 27, including the Marathon itself and the duo-Marathon, both on Sunday 27.
On Saturday 26, 2 new races created in 2017 made their come back this year, the “Trail de l’Archange” which will make you discover, over nearly 55km race, the beauty of the Normandy, and the “Semi d’Avranches” which is a race of 21 km.
The Marathon itself will start sunday at 8h30, from Port de la Houle in Cancale and its finishing line will take place in “Barrage du Couesnon” in Mont Saint-Michel! A race all along the bay of Mont Saint-Michel.
Getting to the starting point in Cancale is not easy for foreigners especially on a sunday morning so Edd Hostel is working with an association of local runners to found them some rides! We asked our clients their target time for the race and we found local runners having the same objective that could drive them there and back.
We already have runners from Brazil and Taiwan that will share a ride with runners from Dol de Bretagne to reach Cancale and run their Marathon! Thanks a lot to Courir à Dol association !
We are happy of this cultural & sporty exchange and proud that local people help us to improve the stay of our guest.
How to get there : Ask us if you are a runner! If you just want to see the race, the closest point of view from Dol de Bretagne is Vivier Sur Mer – 30 mins bike ride !
Where to eat : Speciality in Cancale are oysters, but we are not sure you should taste them before your marathon 😉
Useful informations : All informations about the 4 races on the official website http://www.runinmontsaintmichel.com/fr/les-courses/programme
